When I came out of the house this morning to work on junk,
I could hear a bird calling,
not sure what it was calling?
But, it didn't take me long to figure it out!
Not sure if this baby bird left the nest of it's own free will or fell out!
But it was perched on some twigs near a flower pot overgrown with grass.
Momma called and called but baby never made a sound.
I did NOT get close to baby bird, I have a 300mm zoom lenses.
I kept my eye on the baby bird all day long cause I didn't want my dogs to get it.
As the afternoon progressed the momma calls got louder and louder.
Went to check on baby and it was gone.
I searched and searched but couldn't figure out where baby bird went!
Hopefully it is somewhere safe and momma and baby bird will be reunited soon!
How sweet is this baby bird?
Here's momma, perched high on her lookout!
Momma still searching!

Oh Theresa, it's so nice that you watched out for the baby bird. I hope baby and mom are reunited! Your photos are so absolutely beautiful.

It looks as if the bird is of fledging age. Momma will keep him safe!
Awesome photos!
Awww! Hope they found each other. The last several Summers I have had some "evidence" of a nest above my courtyard, but not this year. Pretty sure some blue jays had a nest/babies not to far off for a while due to the fit they pitched when I went out the door. :D
Such a sweet little bird! Your photos are darling. I hope Momma & baby reunited too :)
Please tell me there's a happy ending! Such a little sweetie...
I know-it just kinda breaks your heart when that happens, doesn't it? Poor thing~ xo Diana
Thanks for the sweet sweet little bird. Let us know if you see him in the morning. I'll worry.
Hopefully this is coming thru to you as

Hi Tot,
I am absolutly on pins & needles waiting to see your 'after' shots. I'm so jealous of the flooring. I would love to get rid of our funky, dirty loop berber. Congrats on the arrival of your beautiful grandson Oliver.

I'm voting he got the nerve to try his wings. I've watched baby cardinals as they jump up for very short flights...then all of a sudden take off. It's fantastic to see and I'm hoping this is just what little fuzzy head did.

P.S. His little top knot is precious.
Love the puff of feathers on top if his head. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods, we're getting ready for a hurricane...I think it'll only be a rain storm by the time it gets to my house:)

How sweet, this made my day. God's plan is beautiful. how nature tends to its loved ones. We humans could learn a good lesson from the mom.

Gorgeous pics! What a great zoom lense. That baby bird looks only inches away in your photos. I love watching birds in our yard. Hopefully your baby bird is safe.
