More....By The Sea Inspirations

The vignette in on the other side of the dining room across from the door server.

Staying with that sea side theme, this is what evolved!

That is a tea cup sponge on the statues head.

I love this set of books,

I couldn't bare to part with them!

This huge shell is one of my favorites!

I scored it at the Nashville flea market for $20! 

It all comes together on this marble top table from France.

This is the table beside the couch in the living room.

I needed something for height, so I put the statue inside the large sponge!

Add a little coral, a sea fan, and shell to complete the look.

This cabinet has had many vignettes over the years.

I think this is my favorite so far.

This photo of the cabinet with closed doors it not very good,

the window reflections kept showing up.

This cabinet is handmade.

I love handmade furniture.

I always day dream about who made it,

and who they made it for!

By The Sea

It seems lately all my decor centers around the sea!

Well, after all I am a Pisces!

Slowly but surely my house is coming back together!

It's been a slight challenge since I've gotten rid of so my of my treasures.

I worked on this vignette this morning!

Moon Rise

As I got home from work last night I was walking up the sidewalk and spotted this lovely moon rise just popping up over the silo! I ran in the house to get me camera, had to put the battery in and change to my 300mm zoom lens. By the time I got back out of the house the moon was up past the silo. I thought the image was lovely. Here are a few perspectives of what I saw.

I focused here on the trees near me and not the moon.

I changed positions so I could see the barn. Love this photo. Keep in mind this is at least a mile away from where I am standing. And it was dusk.

Each photo shows the moon on its slow decent.

As you can see I was moon stuck last night! I love playing with my camera, I need to do it more often! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, How Rusted Are Thy Branches!

I have a junk Christmas tree this year! Yeah!

And YES, it's a rusted piece of junk!

Not sure what in the heck this thing is,

but it has 5 rusted circles on it.

I think it's cool.

This is what it looked like when I found it at my grandfathers place.

Does anyone have any ideas?

It had a wooden piece in the center.

Craig took out the wood,

added an adjustable iron rod,

a base, and a star!

And there you have it,

my new old junk Christmas tree!

Sorry these pictures are so dark,

it has been raining all day.

I'll take some better pictures later!

And wouldn't you know it,

I just happened to have some lights,

still in the package,

that have brown wire! Yeah!

I don't know if I'm gonna put any decorations on it,

or just leave it plain!

What do you think I should do?

I had to show you this cute little bench Craig made.

Took it in the shop on Thursday and sold it on Saturday!

A Little Shopping

Did a little shopping on Monday.

Found some pretty cute things!

2 jars, 2 ironstone mixing bowls, some organ pulls,

show form, soft bristle paint brush, pictures

and some prayers cards!

I've been looking for these prayer cards everywhere!

I finally found some!

I can't wait to make something out of these cards.

And this book is the bomb!

It is dated 1847!

It's not a Bible, but it is something religious, I think it is German.

The words on the pages are embossed.

It is all to pieces,

I don't know if I should  take it apart and sell a few pages at a time or leave it together!

The font is lovely.

I love it!
