  27. You asked about my dinning room walls. I will explain the best I can on how I did it. First I painted the walls the base color I wanted, a very light creamy white, I would give a name if I had one but I mixed colors and used that. After painting two coats of base paint I used a glaze on top in a wax on wax off method. I used a Ralph Lauren glaze that I already had in my home that was over 6 years old and it still worked. You should be able to use any glaze though. I am not an expert painter but I will tell you from experience, you need to work fast with glazes, I worked on one wall at a time and I worked in patches overlapping so the glaze could be blended, like I said work fast so it does not dry. But I will give you a tip, sometimes if the glaze dried to fast I was able to go over it with wet glaze to help blend, it sometimes removed more of the glaze. I used just plain cotton rags to wipe on the glaze and I kind of worked in circular motions. After I was done with the whole room I watered down the base coat with water and went over the glaze in spots that I thought were too dark. This is my second room of using glaze and I just love this room. I used a darker look in my bedroom and if it weren't for the fact that we are building a new master bed room I would not change the wall color. I hope this helped, don't be intimidated it is only paint and can be painted over if you don't like it, but I really think you will because it looks even better in person.
