What is it about clocks?

I love, love, love clocks!
Can't get enough of them.
But, none of mine work.
That doesn't bother me, I still love them.
People always ask me....does this work?
No. Then they say.....well why would I want it?
You know its that question,
if you have to ask you wouldn't understand it even if I explained it to you!
Hahahahaha!
I have several clock faces on the walls
and customers say.....what's up with all the clocks faces?
I always reply.....I just like them.
I like being a little mysterious and hard to figure out!
I always get questions when I put out baby doll heads.
I've had customers put them inside drawers! Hahahaha!

  1. Me too! I have a huge collection building up and I can't wait to install them in my new house. I'm so pleased I am not the only one with this strange habit, take care, Sally xx

  2. I also like things that may not function any longer...but still appeal to me!
My husband says it's a bit quirky...I guess that does describe me fairly well...so, I'm good with it!

Have a blessed week my friend!

  5. ha ha ha!
very funny about the doll heads.
As to clocks and things that don't work...I like them for the nostalgia.
They are just interesting. Besides if we didn't have broken things sitting around what would we talk about? ...and #2...we'd be worried about our stuff getting broken all the time!
    lol...
enjoy the rest of your day...Pat

  6. Non working clocks are ART! Everyone knows that!! Do you set your non working clocks to the same time? My favorite time of day is 4:44.

  9. That is so funny about the doll heads. My sister hates that I have doll parts around and just can't understand it. I can't understand her NOT liking them.

  10. I've been in love with clocks since I was a very young child. I was fascinated with my great grandparents mantel and cuckoo clocks. I've got quite a collection, but only one doll head.....so far.

    Great minds think alike.

  11. I have old clocks but never see just the faces for sale. I love the look. You remind me of how different it can be "out there" beyond the land of Blog. Haha!

  12. I'm a fool for clocks too. I was told it was bad luck to have more than one in a room at a time, but I don't hold with that. That rule must be if they work...and mine don't. I figure if they worked, I'd be expected to be on time to stuff!
It's up to us to educate the clueless.

  14. I too love love love clocks. I have over 50 clocks in my house. My grandson and I went on a hunt to see how many I had, since he asked me the question and I didn't know. Sometimes people smile at me in a strange way when they see all the clocks, but for some reason I can't get enough. Of course I never really know what time it is since they never are all in sync.

  18. That's too funny! People in my neck of the woods don't get things like that, either. No imagination. And Heaven forbid they be a little different from their friends and neighbors in their "decorating style". Sigh.

The doll heads creep out my daughter, but she'd never put them in a drawer. But that comment reminded me of how I'll often lay a cup or something on its side in the booth for the vignette and/or to see the design better. Invariably, when I come back, someone has righted it. They think it was knocked over and they're doing their good deed for the day.

  19. I have a large wall clock in the living room, once a beauty, now surrounded in old deep red painted wood color, with no glass, and only one rusted hand, just one. stuck on the number 5.
I love it. And everybody wants to buy it!
    Love your clock!
    in fondest, Tilda
