It was a crazy day here in Kentucky yesterday!
What is up with tornados in February?
These storms hit two miles from our house!
This was a trucking company, it's down to the concrete slab.
This it across the road from the trucking company.
There is insulation in the trees as far as the eye could see.
This is just down the road from us.
Huge trees torn apart.
The storm went right between these houses and didn't damage them.
There were some houses badly damaged, but I don't feel comfortable showing those.
It's a sad and personal thing.
Just pray for all those who lost loved ones and all that they owned!
I am about 60 miles away from you, I kept an eye on the sky for several hours. Thinking of those that have to try and put their homes back together. Everything torn apart with such violent winds.

ReplyDeleteYes, we've had such mild winter weather, and then this. It was not expected. Just a few miles from us, nearly half the city of Harveyville was demolished, and one person was killed. The town is very small, and in this economy it is difficult for these little towns to recover from such devistation.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering what spring and summer will bring if the tornadoes have already started this early. I pray for those who were in the paths of these terrible storms.
This gave me the shivers when I saw it on the news. I kept thinking about last year and poor MO. Didn't y'all have some really close calls last year as well?

Our area was hit pretty hard, too. Branson is only about 30 miles from us. Lot's of damage there. Glad you're OK, TOT! xo

ReplyDeleteWhen I saw where all the damage was, I was trying to remember where some of out blogging friends are located. Glad you you were safe and no damage. I was so praying that this year would not be a repeat of the last 2. :(

My goodness, how scary. I hate to see the devastation that comes with these terrible storms. I think of all the folks who lost so much and pray they have the strength to pull thru.

tornados are sooo much more dangerous/unpredictable than huricanes. its really sad to see all the damage.I am so glad you didn't post the lost homes I agree that is very personal ,like a wound that will never heal.I will pray for the communities and families that have lost so much.

ReplyDeleteI've been checking in with blog friends since yesterday. So glad you are safe but just rips my heart out to know how many have lost loved ones, pets, homes and memories. Let us know if there is anyway we can help the locals. Paul and I are planning a donation to the Red Cross if nothing else.

We were in the line to receive the tornados but thankfully it missed us and went further north and when I started hearing "kentucky" I started saying prayers for you! So glad you are okay and many prayers being sent for those affected....this weather is so crazy this year!
