Cloche Love

I linking up with
today for Vintage Inspiration Friday!
I love cloches!
I like the fact you don't have to dust what's inside!
And I love to see just how much stuff I can get inside the glass dome!
I start out with a foundation of pier mirrors.
A book for the background.

Statue of a naked godess!

Added something from nature.
Bugs, nests, eggs.......what ever I can find!

Some alabaster and coral.

A clock face is a must!

Tallow berries and a feather.

Last but not least the cloche.
Hope you can't see any dust! lol!

Here's wishing each and every one of my blog friends
A Happy New Year!
I'm looking forward to 2011 being a stellar year!
Bring it on!

I've been good!

I must have been a very good girl this past year,
cause Santa was very good to me!
First of all, as you all know I got a new computer!
I was very excited about that
and thought that was my Christmas gift!
No, he wasn't finished yet!
Then he surprised me with a new camera!
I've only had camera envy for about 3 years now!
I got a Nikon D3100 with a 18-55 lens.
There was an added bonus of a 55-300 zoom lens!
I couldn't believe my eyes!
Then instant fear set in,
what if I can't even figure out how to use this thing!
You know just like the computer! LOL!
It's hard to teach an OLD dog new tricks!
But wait, that's not all,
I got a huge bottle of Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel!
Mind you this is step up from what I usually get from
Craigsmith, which is nothing!
He did say this would include my Birthday as well,
but that's perfectly fine with me!

So! I've been playing around with my new camera!
So far I love it!
I've only taken pictures in Auto mode,
but my mother in-law ordered me a book for dummies!

The clarity of this camera is amazing!

These first two doll pictures are a little blurry.
But the next two look a little better!
I had taken so many pictures my arms started to get weak
and it was very hard to keep the camera from shaking!

It's That Time of The Year!

Well, it's that time of the year when
we reflect back on what's taken place in the past 12 months!
I have to say,
this year has gone by fast and furious!
It's been a good year for us,
and we've been blessed in many ways!
All is well with our family and friends,
and we are very thankful for that!
We are looking forward to the new year to come!

I want to wish all my blogging friends a
Very Merry Christmas
and
A Happy New Year!

Here's praying for
Peace on Earth
And Goodwill to all!

This is my favorite clock.
Not sure if someone has painted it long ago,
or if it came this way when it was made!

Alabaster birds I bought from
Peg of French Vanilla
several years ago!

One of my favorite cabinets!
Of course it's all crusty and rusty!

Love Puffs....Hate The Box!

This time of year we all need our Puffs!
But they come in the ugliest boxes I have ever seen!
While using one of my puffs today,
I decided to give my box a quick makeover!

Got an old paper back book with brown pages,
my glue stick,
an craft knife,
some rubber stamps,
an ink pad,
and I was on my way!

I just applied the glue to the box
and pressed down the pages.
No certain order, just what every strikes your fancy!
Was super easy!

Took my knife and cut out the top and that was that!

I thought a few rubber stamps might make it look a little better.
But you have to put your fingers inside the box
so you can have something to press the stamp on!
The first stamp I made, messed up,
not to worry,
I just pasted another piece of paper over my mistake!

You could paste ribbon or pictures on here,
but I decided since the box would be empty in a couple of weeks,
I wouldn't get to crafty with it!
That way I won't worry about throwing it in the trash!

This little project only took me about 10 minutes and I enjoy doing it!

Now my Puffs box looks like a work of art!
Much better! Don't you think?

Ironstone Purge

Ironstone!
What can I say?
I've loved ironstone before anyone ever heard of Rachel Ashwell
and the words Shabby Chic!
I love it because it's white of course,
but mostly because it's usually all crackled and stained!
I don't like the pristine stuff!
For a  few years, seems I couldn't get enough of it!

With the install of new wood floor in my near future,
(floor already bought, stored in my sunroom)
I have been going through cupboards, drawers and shelves
trying to get rid of junk and weed through my collections!

So far, so good!
Till,
I get to this cupboard!
I really want to sort through all this
ironstone and get ride of some of it!
Problem is, I can't decide what goes and what stays!
The little boy and girl statue my son bought me
for my birthday, with his own money, when he was 9!
Would never part with that!

Who really needs a stack of 10 square bowls?

How many sugar bowls do you need?

I'm embarrassed to show this!
21 platters, are you serious!
I know, I'm nuts!
But they show all their ware and tare from past lives!

There are even some hard to find oval bowl in there!
Would never part with the dog and child statue!

Teeny tiny head vase!

Can you see the crackle goodness on that footed bowl?
I'm feeling weak!

How in the world am I going to achieve such a task?

I love it all, but I don't really need it!
What goes and what stays?
Would you guys have a hard time deciding,
or is it just me?

A little help here, please!

Let it Snow!

We are getting some snow fall this morning and it is so beautiful!
There's not much on the ground yet,
but it's supposed to snow all day long!

What is about snow that is so peaceful,
it's like time stands still and nothing else matters.

I love snow, but not for long periods of time.
I know there are several of you out there getting hammered
with loads of snow and this doesn't show you anything.
But we don't get much snow fall here.

This is bird nest, glad there are no eggs!

Cold, concrete lion, showing the best of his crusty goodness!

Bird house cottage buried in snow!

A lovely place to set and enjoy the snow!

Field in front of our house, no it's not mine, wish it was!
